Intech Studio: Grid

Intech Grid is a modular MIDI control surface solution designed for portability, reliability and ease of use. The development is still in progress. After the pre-order period, the design files and firmware will be openly available.

I’ve been involved with the development of the Intech Grid since its conception in 2015. I’m responsible for hardware development and manufacturability - overseeing the following areas:

  • Electrical Design
  • Mechanical Design
  • Firmware Development
  • Design for Manufacturing

Intech Studio: Otto's DIY

Otto’s DIY is a prototyping ecosystem for Eurorack style synthesizer modules. The project offers prototyping PCB panels, component kits and design documentation for different projects. All of the designs are free and open-source available in the Otto’s DIY Repository.

The user contributed projects are showcased on the Intech Studio website and discussed in the Otto’s DIY Facebook Group.

I particularly enjoyed working on the project because it brings the synth DIY closer to each other. Writing the Otto’s DIY Coockbook was also a lot of fun. As of now we have released Vol. 1 The basics of analog design which explains the inner workings of an Voltage Controlled Oscillator circuit through an easy to follow example.

MPSRT - Remote Monitoring (IoT)

As part of the TMIT IOT Competition, I created MPSRT to overcome many difficulities that arise when we try to manage our desktop computers remotly. From teleworking or parental supervision to hardware health monitoring and two-factor authentication.

The modular design of MPSRT

Features

  • Built In WiFi for remote management
  • RFID module for authentication
  • Temperature sensor interface and fan controller
  • SD card interface for data logging
  • OLED display on the front-panel
  • USB 2.0 interface to mimic USB devices

This design offers an easy to use integrated solution that does not require technical knowledge for the setup or the operation. Since this is a purly hardware solution, it works with every desktop computer, regardless of the architecture and operating system.

The modular design of MPSRT

I enjoyed working on the project because it combines a number of different thechnologies to create a versitile computer accessory. The modular design of the product allows features to be added and remove as required.
